The aixpert level based hardening profile is meant to cover the most common cases. Any additional (special) configuration can be done as add-on script per organization requirements.
Imho, it is not correct to put exceptions into an xml file. The xml file should embody the policy and the check should report violations.
If I was looking for an improvement in processing it would be the addition of a flag of “EXCEEDS” when, e.g. the policy for maxage is 13 but a user has a value of 8 which is more strict aka EXCEEDS policy requirements.
