Support sudo ldap on AIX

sudo-ldap is supported. I see various clients using it. It is in AIX Tools website: http://www.aixtools.net/index.php/sudo-ldap

Looks like IBM AIX officially does not support sudo-ldap.

The naming service is coming from LDAP and authentication from kerberos (AD backend). We expect sudo-ldap to function so sudo policies can be centralized.

In my opinion sudo should be added to OS, analogic as Openssh is.

    1) Sudo is de facto method of delegate authority to give certain users. AIX have RBAC, but add sudo as part of OS give oportunity to simplify manage priviliges in heterogeneous environment (uses other *unix like sysems, as Linux, *BSD etc.) out of the box. Instalation sudo on AIX is very popular instead (or as extend) to use RBAC.

    2) Disadvantage of aix toolbox:
2.1) No Warranty: The Code is provided "As is."
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/aix-toolbox-open-source-software-license
2.2) Depedency hell. To install sudo via aix-toolbox, need to install lot of not needed software. Updates via toolbox are often painfullly/dificulty.
    for compare:
Version from www.sudo.ws is published as one *.bff file and not required addional 3d party.
But there is no varranty how long sudo will be published on this site as prebuild package.
Also some company can heve policy not accept install software not from (OS) vendor sources.

    Regards,

    Michal.

There is sudo and LDAP provided from AIX toolbox for Linux application.
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/883796

This sudo works with LDAP. What is the requirement here?

IBM makes port of sudo and openldap and publish it from AIX toolbox site. The sudo published from following site is compatible with openldap.

If anyone has any questions or issue about these package to work on AIX they can use AIX open source support forum to start a discussion and questions. The AIX open source team would assist with the issues.
