High getattr() calls against /etc/passwd while accessing files owned by LDAP-defined users

We have observed that list command ( ls –l ) against file(s) owned by LDAP user is causing 10x more getattr calls to /etc/passwd file comparing to same list ( ls –l ) against file(s) owned by LOCAL (/etc/passwd) defined user.

LDAP user – is a user existing in LDAP tree structure and recognizable on OS level based on netgroup solution.
LOCAL user – is a user defined directly in /etc/passwd file.

The solution/Workaround suggested by the support team (using LDAP filters and avoiding NIS/LDAP-netgroups) is not feasible within our environment.

We therefore request a review and improvement/optimization of that part of code within AIX, which is causing the high amount of getattr() calls, with the goal to reduce them significantly.

    Dear development team,
thanks for considering the RfE as being suitable for future releases.
Q1: Can you specify at the time being, in which release it will be implemented?
Q2: If the answer to Q1 is "no": How do I get informed about the implementation?

    Thanks & kind Regards,
