Hitting a limitation and if any applications area accessing /dev/kmem during an LKU, it will cause it to fail.

Please find the below investigation & work around report for live update, and let me know if any concerns, thanks..


@Two type of issues stopping our Live update project:-

1- The following process stopping ( /dev/kem Java & machine.jar (AppDynamics) and WebSphere® (was related process), ( PMR suggested to kill process and start live update again )

2- The kernel extensions issues, that are not compatible with live update, (PMR suggested to check with applications compatibility)

STEP 01- The following process stopping ( /dev/kem Java & machine.jar (AppDynamics) and WebSphere® (Was related process),

The following "axeapitfso01" server has been tested for stopping & killing process and tested for live update again,

We have been killed the following java & machine.jar related to (appDynamics) process, and then tested live update again and it got works well & successfully completed,

    this is a design limitation of LKU for which IBM has no plans to address in a future release
