a level of virtualization for crypto adapters is available on AIX / Power Systems using ACSP :

    https://www.ibm.com/security/key-management/acsp

there are no plans for Power systems software to support virtualization of crypto on AIX either through the virtual I/O server (VIOS) or SR-IOV

This requirement has originally been raised by GAD (now Fiducia & GAD IT AG).
In a recent call on crypto topics the customer confirmed his interest in crypto virtualization on Power Systems under AIX (support of crypto domain concept). He made following remarks re. this requirement:
"GAD is interested in using a crypto coprocessor on different LPARs with different configurations (different access control points, different user/role concept, different master keys etc.) also on pSeries. This could be achieved by implementing the domain concept of crypto coprocessors on zSeries also on pSeries."

Already in 2011 GAD commented in the Crypto Workgroup community on the requirement referring to the European Crypto Council of 2011:
"Unfortunately, this requirement has not been on the list shown during the last council although it has been required for a long time.
Answering the questions (as shown during Shawn's presentation)
    1. Crypto Card Virtualization (design similar to System z) - HIGH
    2. TKE for Power Systems - { HIGH | MED | LOW | NA }MED
    3. Is TKE a pre-requisite for Crypto Card Virtualization in your shop? NO

In my opinion the IBM Power System Virtualization only makes sense if the Crypto Card virtualization is also supported"
