There are many redundancy solutions for robust disk I/O availability - redundant HBAs, redundant SAN switches and redundant storage system. After apply IJ10537(included in AIX 7.2 TL2 SP3), almost 120 sec to recover I/O even set rw_timeout to minimum 30 sec.
We ask minimize "lun reset retries" to fast I/O recovery in redundant filesystem environment such as LVM mirror or GPFS replication.

the rw_max_time attribute added in AIX 7.2 TL 4 addresses the issue described in this RFE.
