SAN Tape Support in AIX LKU Live Kernel update

We using Spectrum protect LAN Free Backup with SAN NPIV Tapes for backup big Oracle SAP Databases fast. Currently there is no Live Kernel update possible because of the missing support of LKU with NPIV Tapes.

    AIX Live Update support for systems with IBM Spectrum?? Protect LAN-free backup to N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV)-connected tape devices is included in AIX 7.2 TL5

    We are investigating a solution for Live Update that will support an environment with SAN NPIV tapes as long as there is no active tape I/O. If there is active tape I/O, then Live Update would fail, but if not, the Live Update would manage all the tape devices so the configuration is the same after Live Update as it was before.
