This probably means modifying udfcreate to be vgda aware, and adding a force flag.
Not sure if it also means making other AIX tools UDF aware to keep from clobbering the UDF header.
There may also be some disk driver and kernel level shortcuts for LVM and JFS which get in the way.
RFEs take a long time, so while waiting, perhaps you could format the LUN from the Linux side, then mount it from the AIX side.
No further enhancements are planned for UDFS.
