AIX SAN adapter driver support for new RDP ELS

Unfortunately, the AIX adapter driver still does not support the new RDP ELS - even on the newer SAN adapters.
Are there any plans to implement support for the RDP ELS as this is very common by all SAN vendor.

    RDP-ELS support is supported for the 8Gb Broadcom FC adapter in AIX 7.2 TL 3.

    beginning in AIX 6.1 Technology Level 9 service pack 10, AIX 7.1 Technology level 5, AIX 7.2 Technology level 2, and VIOS 2.2.6, RDP-ELS support is included for the below feature code Fibre Channel and FCoE adapters:
    EN0A, EN0B,
    EN0H, EN0J,
    EN0K, EN0L,
    EN0M, EN0N,
    RDP-ELS support is planned to be added to the 8Gb Broadcom FC adapters in a future release of AIX.

    Read Diagnostic Parameters Extended Link Service Command was added to:
    * Linux kernel patch 6242431 (2015-04-20)
    * zOS V2R1 + APAR OA49089 (2016-05-02)
    * DS8870 at firmware 7.5 (2012-12-03)
    * DS8880 at firmware 8.1 (2016-03-03)
    * Brocade Fabric OS 7.4 (2015-05-29)
    * QLogic ISP 26xx and ISP 2700 firmware 8.01.00 (ER135457) (2011-11-03)
    * Emulex LPe31000, LPe32000 and LPe16000 firmware 11.4.204.8 (2017-11-10).
    * Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 8.2(2)

    It looks like IBM has some code to reference already for that, but likely is not portable. It would be more likely to be just a design reference.

    It's likely the Emulex firmware supporting this is still pretty new in POWER hardware PE.

    The key here will be userland tools to send the ELS packet, and translate the response to something human readable.

    HBA vendor tools don't run on AIX, so IBM would need to add this to diag or fcstat.
