Please Improve the specification of the ethchan_config command. ethchan_config should check the target device.
The ethchan_config command can change the "netaddr" parameter of entX and set the address to ping of EtherChannel.
However, the ethchan_config command changes "netaddr" paramater without checking whether the device is entX or enX.
entX and enX have the same parameter name "netaddr", but they have different meanings.
For example, The IP address of the enX interface was changed when the following incorrect command was executed.
Incorrect: /usr/lib/methods/ethchan_config -c "en4" netaddr 192.168.123.1
Correct: /usr/lib/methods/ethchan_config -c "ent4" netaddr 192.168.123.1
I was going to change the address to ping attribute (netaddr) of an EtherChannel "ent4" to 192.168.123.1 (this is Gateway), but I specified “en4” by mistake.
However, ethchan_config changed the IP address of the "en4" interface (netaddr), without checking target device is correct or incorrect.
As a result, there was trouble with duplicate IP addresses for the gateway.
I opened Case TS017813930. I got an answer that this is working as designed, although this is not expected behavior.
I would like you to correct this designe.
