CISCO Switch Port information with CDP Protocol

We need support of CISCO Switch LAN CDP Protocol and want to see this information in AIX about Switch capabilities, port connected on AIX side to which port on switch side
This is in VMWare standard and helps in analysis oft LAN Port problems and in discussions with LAN Teams to identify things.

    IBM has evaluated the priority of this enhancement proposal relative to other future product content and determined that this RFE will not be pursued for a future product release

    Question: Would an open source package like cdpr https://sourceforge.net/projects/cdpr/ satisfy the CDP requirement?

    I would like to see LLDP instead of CDP as it would be more universal, Cisco even supports it.

    This information, along with the HSRP/LACP/LLDP should be collected at the device driver level, to be available for a single command: lsneighbour.

    This implementation alone will save thousands of hours and hundreds of PMRs.
