We need the vm TOOLS in HMC appliance to shutdown guest on VCenter and compatibility to work with Backup Systems.

    Please support installation of VMware Tools on the vHMC is an appliance

    Currently, there are no plans to ship VMWare tools with vHMC. Please also see comments in RFE 87259.

    Hi,

    I guess this is similar to the RFE https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=87259. Please see the comments/questions mentioned in the RFE. If its different than RFE 87259, please do let us know on what specific actions would need additional tools. But please note that, vHMC is an appliance and bundling these tools with the vHMC appliance has its own challenges as mentioned in the comments in RFE 87259.
