HMC Power Down frame option

When powering down the frame from the HMC, there is an insufficient and often confusing process that can lead to serious issues. When power down is selected, a pop-pup is displayed that gives a user an option to confirm or cancel the process. In a multi-monitor environment (which today is a norm), you can run into a situation when the pop-pup window is displayed on a different screen and if it is missed by the user, a single Enter key could end up in a production disaster. I think this pop-pup window should be replaced and w confirmation window where the user has to type in a command - Like "Yes", or "Confirm" or a specific number generated by the HMC. The frame runs multiple environment and often PROD, QA and DEV and these system should have a very high level of protection.

The request is similar to RFE 122596 and we are looking at the option of changing the default value in the confirmation pop-up to No.

When Power Off system is selected , there is a pop up with a "Yes" or "No" question if there are lpars running in the system and if user selects "yes", then there is another pop up asking to choose "Normal Power Off" or "Fast Power Off" and then Power Off is done. So there are 2 pop-up's or selections before a system is powered off. Also, there is a specific task for "Powering Off" a system and task roles can be created in such a way that only specific or required HMC users have access to Power Off a system. Given that, If the default option in the confirmation dialog is changed to "No" would that address your concern? Which means pressing Enter Key unknowingly would cancel the Power Off and user has to explicitly select the Yes option.
