HMC Enhanced UI lacking client slot ID option for vFC adapters

The enhanced UI in the HMC is lacking the ability to choose a slot id for the client vFC adapter and forces the next available slot id on the client LPAR which may vary from LPAR to LPAR.

This is not the case with the classic UI where you have full control over the slot id mappings.

The classic UI is being sunset in version 8.8.7 of the HMC and this is major concern.

    Requested Enhancement has been deliver with PTF MH01804(x86)/MH01805(ppc64le) on top HMC version V9 R1 M921.

    I agree, this is a must have feature and we still use the classic interface just because of this. Version 8.8.6 is the last version were you will be able to use the classic interface and we will probably not be able to upgrade to 8.8.7 when it is out before this function is restored in the enhanced gui.

    Indeed...we too rely on standardized slot IDs to associate client vFC adapters to specific fabric paths. If the Enhanced UI does not permit administrator-defined vFC slot IDs, please make this function available.
