The customer is requesting a supported procedure on how to modify the TCP buffers on the HMC in order to tweak the connection, because of the following scenario:
From the 6.1 LPAR to HMC scp is running at 350KB/s
From the 5.3 LPAR to HMC scp is running at 11MB/s
received the test results from ftp :
HMC <-----ftp (get)------ LPAR AIX 6.1 (3.8e+02 Kbytes/s)
HMC <-----ftp (get)------ LPAR AIX 5.3 (1.1e+04 Kbytes/s)
The customer had slowness when doing a VIOS restore from an image that
was placed on NFS share on AIX 6.1 6GB backup file took nearly 4 hours to pull.
He used the "installios" command, to restore a VIOS from a nim_resources.tar file located on remote NFS share on AIX 6.1

.The HMC chhmc CLI supports a --jumboframe {on | off} parameter. If you configure this on HMC, partitions, and any switch between the two, would that solve your problem?
