If ROHA is used LPM should not change the "desired" value

See Salesforce Ticket TS001277889

In case of an LPM operation (if no other profile has been specified) the "current profile" is migrated to the target CEC. So ie. LPM operation changed the "Desired" value of the processing units. Per default this would happen after a manual DLPAR operation followed by a LPM operation.

In case of ROHA is used LPM should migrate only the profile and NOT the current configuration. That means ie. the desired CPU values should not be changed because the appropriate CPU values should be handled by ROHA only if ROHA is activated.

Customer asks, if it is possible to change behaviour of LPM in case of PowerHA LPAR, which uses ROHA: Desired values in new profile on target CEC should be same as in the start profile of the source CEC.

    Hi Frank,

In this case, is the LPM initiated from the HMC using Command Line or GUI ? Assuming its initiated from HMC, the last activated profile will be normally updated with the current configuration of the lpar so that the partition can be started using that profile later. For example, VIO mappings will change after LPM to target system, so the profile is updated.

In this case, is the request to only skip updating the processor/memory values to the profile on the target system ?

    Thanks.
