HMC Needs Need To Be Able To Send Email Alerts To An SMTP Server With Authentication

We have an HMC that is managing a new Power8 machine. The HMC is V8R8.4.0 and the machine type is 7042-CR8. In the Service Management section of the HMC web page, there are configuration options to setup emailed alerts. The point of this function is to let the customer know when a hardware failure occurs. At the moment these configuration options don't allow the HMC to connect to an SMTP server using authentication. The HMC can send an email alert, but not to any SMTP server that requires ANY kind of authentication. Most SMTP servers do use some sort of authentication to relay mail to an address. The other slightly lower priority problem with the HMC is that it can't send email alerts to any web based mail services like Gmail or Hotmail. If the only email server on premise is Domino ( for example ) and the LPAR that Domino is on has failed due to hardware, the customer will never know because they wont receive the email.
