UAK process to handle multiple maintenance contracts as a whole

HMC checks if there is a valid maintenance contract for the managed servers by inquiring to IBM License Server. At the time of the contract renewal, there is delay of 1 to 2 days to have the UAK in HMC reflected even if there is no term gap between old and new contract. The delay comes from delay in the license server to feed contract information, and gap inside HMC between timing of UAK check and timing of inquiring to the license server. 
This results in that there is time when the customer cannot update firmware, and also that HMC and the hosted operating system like AIX post error to notify there is no valid UAK. The posted error is eventually picked up by a monitoring software and the customer needs to take action for that.
Suggested solution is that when HMC and IBM License server deal with UAK, if there are multiple contracts without any gap in contract term, the contracts should be regarded as a whole, and the end date should be the one from the last contract in the series of contiguous contracts. In this way, the customers don't have to worry about the renewal timing.

    Hi Takeshi,

    We evaluated the requests internally and this seems more like a request to the TSS or change UAK itself and not something that HMC would be aware of. HMC gets the UAK and applies on the firmware. At this point of time, there is not much which can be done from the HMC on this request, hence marking it as declined for now.
