Make HMC permissions with clearer delineations and documentation

Task role permissions remain difficult to properly distinguish and divide in the enhanced interface(documented by IBM as also being more difficult than classic interface). Task permissions should be distinct and well defined based on likely use of the tasks. We should not have to use trial and error testing to determine what is required finding seemingly unrelated tasks must be granted to use them in the GUI.

Improvements to documentation will help, but this doesn't address what appear to be nonsensical dependencies of one task authorization on another (template library is required to view system plan), or what are viewed in my opinion as mistakes (allow read only enterprise pool access to change the master hmc).

I may have misread your comment, but you don't seem to be indicating any changes to how the task authorizations are listed or the inter-dependencies of them. If one is dependent on another there should be more parent/child levels for these to indicate it.

    Hi,

There is documentation of task roles available in the Knowledge Center as well apart from the support documented referenced in the RFE. We have evaluated the request and will update the existing documentation to reflect a better mapping of GUI panels to task roles.

    Thanks.
