HMC updates and upgrades can be difficult at times to figure out

HMC updates and upgrades can be difficult at times to figure out. For example what prereqs are required. We have many HMCs and they are not all in sink so when it comes for an upgrade or update it is rather easy to miss something on a prereq list especially when some ifixes are included in the next fix level and some aren't
It would make life a lot easier if there was a good matrix or script that would check current level and ask you what your next level is that you are going to then list all your prereqs. Another thought would be following AIX and be able to load the information up to a IBM site and have it return all needed information. Right now from a customer stand point we lose a lot of time researching the updates and we don't have the spare time for this in our environment.

    As part of IBM Cloud Management Console, there is a Patch Planning app which helps with information on the latest levels/required fixes etc based on the current installed levels and also helps in creating an update/upgrade plan. Please let us know if that addresses your requirement. Marking it as delivered for now. Please re-open if there are more enhancements required for the CMC app.

    After I held my team meeting yesterday I found out there is not another RFE open on this. I will keep this one opened until it has been resolved

    We are looking at various design approaches to address this common issue. Please contact Sylmarie Arguelles in your company as she has provided input towards our research into this problem.

    In the meanwhile, have you used FLRT? It lists recommended updates and upgrades for an HMC level.

    READMEs for each HMC update / upgrade also list prereqs.
