Stop selective SRCs in lower HMC models

One third of my HMCs are 7042-CR6's, which will not support anything newer than HMC 8.8.6. However, a subset of those HMCs are responsible for generating 17 PMRs in just the last month or so, almost all of them due to "too many files open" (an SRC which has been addressed in HMC 8.8.7 but which cannot be installed on a CR6.

I know that it is not possible to stop HMC calls home completely (as this may result in missing critical HMC errors), and currently there is no feature in the HMC to stop selective SRCs; I am requesting such a feature for lower HMC models.
