I have a column called "BSD Checksum" at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6372280
I am downloading the files using:
getupgfiles -h public.dhe.ibm.com -u anonymous --passwd anonymous -d /software/server/hmc/network/v950/x86
when the download is done how do I perform the BSD checksum, on the HMC, to verify the integrity of the download?
See case TS005812273
Also, if I point getupgfiles to a local server I downloaded the stuff to I want to be able to checksum that after moving it to the HMC

Ability to run sha256sum and md5sum in restricted shell is delivered with HMC 10.1.1020.0.
Thanks
We will address this enhancement in a future release.
Thanks.
If getupgfiles already does the checksum then why did support ask me to run a checksum?
Hi Robert,
getupgiles already checks for the checksum of the downloaded file and provides a message if its not matching. We will look at improving the error message. Since getupgfiles already does the validation, can you please let us know if that addresses your requirement or if you have additional requirements?
Thanks
