Hi Patrick,
There is no mechanism to completely disable the default admin/root accounts on CR1/CR2. Since they are the default users which might be needed in case of any service recovery actions , currently there are no plans in the near future for that capability. Its recommended to create a different admin user and also to change the password of the default user to a strong one and use the newly created admin account instead of the default user.
Thanks.
Hi Dev,
my approach to be able to disable the privileged default user "root" is to allow less point of cyber attacks.
Moreover setting up a self defined user with same Administrator privileged is the way to go nowadays.
CHers Patrick
Hi Patrick,
Password change is enforced on 1st login for the default BMC users and password can be changed there-after as well. Can you please provide more details on use cases for disabling the default admin/root user?
Thanks.
