Run multiple Managed System Firmware Updates Concurrently

To update the Firmware on multiple Managed Systems under the same HMC running the updlic is currently not allowed. Last night I had to update 5 Managed Systems and it took ~1hr per frame. It stated at 9:30pm and ended at 3:43am the next day. If these were concurrently able to run it would of been a whole lot less time to complete.

My request is to allow concurrent Firmware updates on Managed Systems under HMC v9 and above

    If it helps this is possible via the GUI in the browser rather than the updlic command. Simply select multiple managed systems and under actions you can perform the update firmware with all selected systems, progress is shown for all systems during the update. I have used this a few times without issue.


    It should be noted that HMC V9 support is due to end of April 2023 so it's unlikely any new functionality will be added at this end stage of support.
