PowerVC with 2 HMC

Our customer "Etat de Geneve" many Power systems with PowerVC and dual HMC.

In powerVC, one have the possibility to connect a host with 2 HMCs, one being primary, the other being secondary.


To improve performance, one can load-balance the connections, some hosts being connected to the first HMC, other hosts to the second one.


In case of maintenance or failure of the primary HMC, the secondary is automatically promoted as primary, with the result of having ALL the hosts configured in PowerVC being connected to the same HMC.


The idea is to fallback the connections when the HMC is coming back, which is not the case actually.
