LDAP and multiple base DN support

We configure our HMC's with LDAP integration for user management. With users in various regions around the world, and how our LDAP OU's are configured, the scope has to be set to sub, and very high up in the OU tree.

This results in a login delay on the HMC's during the user authentication verification of anywhere between 15-60 seconds (the time taken to scan all the sub folders in LDAP until the user record is found).

Requesting an enhancement for configuring multiple base DN's in the HMC LDAP configuration. This should speed up the overall search (by narrowing the scope), and speed up HMC logins for users managed by LDAP.

    Hi,

Support for configuring multiple base DN's for LDAP has been added with HMC V9 R1 M920.

    Thanks.

I think if IBM implement this it would be a good opportunity to provide the ability to specify groups too... for example, I have 300+ HMCs and 60+ people who need access to them - that's 36,000 accounts I need to create and enable for LDAP. Where as if we take what DS8000 or other products do, we point the HMC at groups (which each get mapped to either admin/read only etc) then anyone in those groups gets the necessary access.
