Create/Amend filters using search results

When I access PDM's "find string" from within RDP (or through a remote search), I would like to add the results into a new/existing member filter, object filter and/or iProject folder with a click of a context option. This will allow large filters to be created relatively quickly (without resorting to underhanded file editing techniques) which then enables the same set of objects/source to be worked on over several days without having to run the same searches over and over again.


Use Case:

When I start a maintenance project, the first thing I do is to find the source members that need to be changed. If there are a small number of members needing a change, then creating a member filter and object filter manually is no issue, but if (for example) a commonly used file is changed then the resulting filters can take a very long time to setup.

    Thank you for taking the time to submit your request. After careful consideration, we know that we cannot deliver your requested enhancement in the near term, so it is being declined. However, your request does align with the future strategy of our product and we believe it may have future value, so we will add it to an internal list for us to keep in mind for the future.

    We have reviewed this requirement and we feel it would be a beneficial enhancement to the product. We hope to be able to add it to our development plans in the future.

    The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” LOW priority feature.

    Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    Yes, please. Save-to-filter would definitely be nice. I would use this feature to manage the occasional large list.

    However, for me, in most cases it would suffice if the search results could be retained across sessions.
