File journals

When upgrading from V6R1 to V7R1 we are no longer able to associate journal receivers with the journal after making file changes. We never had an issue until the upgrade to V7R1 and we have made numerous file changes without issues on V6R1. Technical support states there has always been an issue with stopping and starting journals, but as stated above until the upgrade to V7R1 and the power 8 we never had an issue with this.

Use Case:

The old receivers are used to allow programmers to determine problems with programs or tracing complaints from users.

This RFE has been re-evaluated. Due to the relatively low number of votes, this RFE is now being declined. Consider using the previously described DISPLAY_JOURNAL table function to connect files with all their journal receivers.

    Hi,
We reviewed this RFE and we're going to spend some time reviewing the PMR as well.
In the meantime, we wanted you to know that the DISPLAY_JOURNAL table function can be used to find all instances that pertain to a file, regardless of its JID.
You can see the DISPLAY_JOURNAL() details here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/beta/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzajq/rzajqudfdisplayjournal.htm
    Regards, Scott
