As several of our RPG programs have a lot of Opens going on we have followed the recommendations of David Frost about lessen the number of Opens.
Hitherto we have identified the program VB1002 as the one causing most opens. We have lessen the number of opens in that program by changing the READE RPG statements by SQL SELECTs.
The issue is that we are seeing native opens on logical file QADBXRMTNM from the OS program called QRWCKRDB and these opens are adding up to the total native opens.

    We have made this enhancement at IBM i 7.1 and higher.
    Access the most recent DB2 PTF Group to get the improved behavior.
