Please port the newly open-sourced Swift programming language to IBM i under 5733OPS

I assume that we've given the COMMON process enough time to percolate on this submission from 5Dec2015: http://requirements.common.org/powerbase/view/ideasIBM.htm?db=ideasIBM&Where=ID%20=%20371

Problem:
Our IBM i development community struggles to deliver business solutions in today's world of APIs, DEVOPS, multiple channels/devices, continuous improvement, etc. - we could really use a very powerful and popular language like Swift to help us develop new apps to liberate our legacy IBM i assets.

Impact:
I believe that providing Swift as a new Open Source development option on the IBM i will definitely catch the attention, and even change the mindset, of those who feel they must leave this platform. According to respondents of the “2015 Developer Survey”, Swift is the “most loved” programming language. It could provide a much-needed spark to our IBM i development community and possibly even drive new growth.

Work-Around:

Proposed Solution:
Please focus your IBM i Open Source team on making the current Linux port operational and available on the IBM i for Power Systems server to offer us both client- and server-side programming.

Use Case:

In the year since this original submission, server-side Swift has grown in popularity and usability - even on z/OS (https://developer.ibm.com/swift/2016/12/05/try-swift-on-zos/).

As previously mentioned, it seems that our IBM i platform will greatly benefit from the availability this Open Source programming language. To help support my contention, @aaronbartell added this evidence: http://stackoverflow.com/research/developer-survey-2015#tech
