Make "Check for updates" and API

The current method of checking for a i Access Client update can only be executed from the Main "Menu" in an "interactive" mode.

It would be great to have an "API" that could be executed in "batch" on the iSeries so that we could send the appropriate notification, on a timely basis to the network administrator.

    Hi,
    just did some network traces and checked which page is accessed by the "update check" utility. Found that the following link is accessed:
    ftp://dispmy-112.mul.ie.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/solutions/updates/CurrentVersion.txt
    Maybe this helps ...

    Inclusion on the existing weekly PSP listing or access to a PTF via the existing SNDPTFORD command would be even better since those processes already exist.
