SSL Enabled by Default in IBM i Access Client Solutions

Being able to set the 'Default communications to SSL' option to ON from the get-go would allow new users to configure their new 5250 sessions to use SSL without having to check any boxes. We are looking to turn off unsecure telnet to our IBM i servers in the near future. This would help facilitate that change. Being able to configure this in the AcsConfig file would be very convenient.

Use Case:

Create new sessions from a new install of IBM i Access Client Solutions that will default to using SSL.

This is in our next update available July 2017. A new property has been documented in AcsConfig.properties to support this.
When com.ibm.iaccess.DefaultCommunicationToSSL=true, new system configurations will default to use SSL. Existing configurations will remain unchanged.

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.
