Compile ILE source from Orion

Our team includes PHP developers who are beginning to maintain the existing RPG code base. Since the RPG code is included in the same git repository as the PHP code, we need the ability to make changes to the ILE source and compile from the same interface.


Use Case:

The business notifies developers that there has been a change in business rules. The developers use Orion to open some ILE source members to implement that change within the application. In order to test their changes, the developers need the ability to click a button to compile the source members. If there are errors, they should be able to see them immediately on the screen and correct their mistakes, recompile, and test the results.

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
