This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I would like an SQL view containing printer IP addresses. This could be a column added to QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS and would return the "RmtLocName" value that is found on the "Display Device Description" panel of the WrkDevD command.
I have an assignment to automate a manual process that is performed every month. In this process, a user must scan for all printer devices that were added during the current month, and change the description. This description is based on a formula that is easily applied, except for the inclusion of the IP address. I can use OBJECT_STATUS to see all devices added this month, and use this to generate an update to their text field. However, as I need to include the IP address in the generated text, we still need to manually look up the IP address and manually update the device's text field. I plan to write an RPG program with the API, and turn this into a stored procedure or function, but it seems like a logical thing to have included in the OBJECT_STATISTICS function (or any other that may be more appropriate).

Have you tried looking at the QDCRDEVD api? The data returned for a device includes the IP address and the call to it can be created as a stored procedure.
