This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

IBM believes that the request described has been solved and is available with the following PTF's:
v7.3 SI79287 & SI79289
v7.4 SI79339 & SI79340
v7.5 SI79363 & SI79369
Further information about these PTF's can be found in the included cover letter.

Sorry The Answer Was Take from ROCH in 2017 Year
This Message was sent from Roch in November But we don't have today a FEEDBACK if the solution was ready
When you delivery that PTF??? in June 2022 My Swiss Customer have to Make the New Application INVOICE that NEED The QRCODE with Swiss FLAG
Update: The solution arrived at by the AFP Consortium requires updates to numerous components of the print flow. This made it unlikely that all the update required would be available to all our customers in a timely manner. For this reason we have come up will another approach to provide Swiss QR codes.
We are developing a new program that will be called by the Workstation Print component if the DDS specifies a QR code bar code with a specific modifier value. This program will utilize several existing Host Print Transform service programs to generate an image of the QR code, overlay it with the Swiss cross, then include it on the page as an IOCA image. Since this image format is supported by all existing AFP printers and transforms, this solution should provide Swiss QR code support regardless of your existing AFP environment.
We plan to provide PTFs for this support for IBM i 7.4 and IBM i 7.3.
Attachment (Description): This Document from all Swiss Banks describe the exactly QRCODE withe FLAG Problem
If the IBM Laboratory have some question or dubt about QRCODE with Flag in the Middle contact me at +39 338 2210891
I well know this problem

QRCODE with FLAG in the MIDDLE ,
the possibility of printing a qrcode with logo is a modification that the IBM laboratory cannot delay in publishing a PTF in accordance with ISO 20022 standards including the Swiss Nation
I also need that implementation that was mandatory
for my Swiss Customers, they need to create invoices with QRCODE in wich the Switzerland Flag.
Was Very URGENT to make a PTF for iOs V7.3 and V7.4
.Just an update.
The good news is that all 3 of the architecture changes required to include this type of bar code in an *AFPDS spooled file were voted to consensus status at the end of 2020. The bad news is that the general solution pursued by the open standards group ended up to be far more complex than I ever anticipated. While this general solution will allow one to place any image anywhere in and around a QR Code, it requires support for secondary resources in AFP to now support resources (That is a tertiary resource for those of keeping score.) My concern is that the complexity of this update will significantly slow the implementation on by other companies that must provide part of the total solution. While we can keep the AFPFS we generate simple, the print servers and IPDS printers must handle every possible contingency this change allows, in order to claim support.
We are also facing pressure to give another RFE priority over this one. More and more customers are reporting problems printing Host Print Transform (HPT) output to their PCL printers. The print drivers of a number of popular printer manufacturers no longer accept the PCL 5e data stream HPT produces. Since these printers represent the most popular means by which our customers print bar codes, it also makes sense for us to address this issue first. We believe we can leverage the raster-mode support of HPT to produce PCL 6 output with a relatively small effort, However, this delay, along with slower than expected progress on another enhancement, means that we will deliver this support later than we previously anticipated.
We remain committed to delivering this support as a PTF to supported releases.
On the side, I will make inquires with the other AFP Consortium members to assess their plans for implementing this new architecture. If a very few have such plans, I will push for them to adapt my original proposal to support Swiss QR Code as a new modifier for the QR Code type. If accepted, this architecture can be at consensus status by the time we have resources available to address it, and will significantly reduce the effort to develop it.
Hi,
it's now been 8 months since the last message from "IBM_Systems_Developer (IBM)" ..
Is it possible to know something more precise ?
Hello,
is there any update on the standardization process and implementation plans?
timings ?
Will they be ready at the end of 2020 ? or half 2021 ?
.The special PTF I offered will not work for the customer who made the original request. They print to IPDS printers. The solution I proposed would only work to PCL printers configured to use HPT=*YES. (It would also not work for PDF output of TS1 or IP1).
In light of this, the Print team has discussed alternative solutions. The main issue we face is that ever since the initial barcode support was added to IBM i, the bar codes are always the last item included on the page. This causes them to overwrite any image one includes in the same position. We consider it to be quite risky to change this behavior at this, as it could cause bar codes in existing documents to become obscured.
The fact that some have mentioned the need to print other images on top of QR Code bar codes adds support to the solution under consideration by the AFP Open Standards group, which allows any image to be placed anywhere in relationship to the bar code symbol. I expect this solution to be approved by the standards group at the upcoming meeting in September.
We plan to implement this solution once approved, and to PTF the solution back to V7.3 and v7.4.
Hi all,
seems this special PTF for a quick solution for our swiss customers raises increased interest.
Possible to send PTF info here or a contact?
Thanks

Yes, we are using AFP Printer. Can you please sent me the PTF.
How can i get the PTF file?
Our printers require AFP data streams. PCL is not supported. Canon has confirmed this to us.
It's not just about the Swiss QR code, which will be used from the end of June 2020.
The same problem arises with all QR codes that are overlaid with a graphic, such as Twint and many others.
It must be imperative that QR codes can be overlaid with a graphic (e.g. tif with AFP-RSC).
IBM i bar code print support is based on the AFP data stream. The AFP Consortium did not reach a consensus on the changes needed to support the Swiss QR code in the fall meeting. The spring meeting was cancelled due to the pandemic. As such, we will not be able to generate an *AFPDS spooled file with an valid, interchangeable bar code of this type.
However, generating this AFP was always only half of the solution. You would also need the printer or transform used to print the payment slips to support the new function. The only such consumer that the IBM i development eam owns, and can provide timely support for, is an HP PCL printer configured to use Host Print Transform (HPT).
Please let us know if you will use PCL printers configured with HPT to print these bar codes?
If so, we could provide a short-term solution via a PTF to the HPT component. It would be activated by specifying a currently invalid bar code modifier in the DDS BARCODE keyword. The resulting *AFPDS data stream would generate an error when sent to all current AFP consumers. The HPT PTF would use this modifier as a trigger to add a 7 x 7 mm image of the Swiss cross logo in the center of the QR Code bar code symbol.
When we implement the final solution after the AFP changes are finalized, you may need to update yourprint application(s) to continue to print this type of bar code.
Again, both Submitters and Voters for this RFE, please add a comment to this RFE to let us know that you will indeed be using PCL printers configured with HPT to print these bar codes, and that this short term solution is acceptable, so that we know we should proceed. Also, tell us in which IBM i release you would need the PTF.
Is there any news ? Timing ?
