ILE COBOL RDP features allowed in OPM COBOL

It takes time for a company to switch all their code to ILE COBOL from OPM COBOL. ? ?You can't just make it ILE and it works like OPM did without taking into consideration Activation issues, Continue/next sentence, other programming issue have ran into. ? ?It would be nice to have some of the ILE features work for OPM like Visualize Application, SEP, hover over values etc..... ? ?All these nice things that are shown as great only work if the company has taken the time to switch all their old code to ILE. ? ?Might be easier to persuade people to get off SEU and use RDP more with a little more benefit when maintaining OPM programs.??<br /><br />Just feel the editors nice features should work for both ILE and OPM and leave the ILE specific things (like Intrinsic functions, binding multiple languages together) to get people to switch to ILE. ? ?Work on getting them to RDP first then let them move to ILE as needed.


Use Case:

Would use these features in OPM all the time since still have 95% of our system in OPM COBOL.

    I'm sorry this RFE is much too broad. Splitting into separate RFEs will be much easier to follow up on, some items can be handled much sooner than others. Another suggestion worth proposing, and likely more in line with our direction, would be for tooling to help migrate to ILE. Also, for example the request for Visualize Application would be much more likely than SEP. Please reopen separate RFEs for each enhancement you are requesting so we can follow up on it directly. Thanks.
