This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.
Welcome to the IBM Ideas Portal (https://www.ibm.com/ideas) - Use this site to find out additional information and details about the IBM Ideas process and statuses.

There is an IBM open source movement on github which is actively working on a server port, my guess is at some point this once it matures on linux, it might move to AIX after which it could find a home under PASE or ILE.

Sorry Sean - I noticed the internet hiccups that caused that duplication. And then I noticed that I had NO way to edit/delete the comments that were inserted. This RFE system is not the most friendly.
I thought about adding an apology right away, but figured I would just be making things worse.
PS - I was the first to submit requirements to COMMON and an RFE here asking IBM to port the open source Swift release to IBMiOSS. My requests were rejected.

The three copies of the posted links below is far from any implementation of swift running natively on the IBM i platform. That project is nothing more than an Xcode project making XML http calls to the host.
Sean Batson.
I know of an Open Source on IBM i repo (swift-itoolkit) that may be of interest here:
