IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea at this time, so it is being closed.

*BLANKS and *ZEROS already have meaning in CL. They are considered to be character literals '*BLANKS' and '*ZEROS' by the CL compiler. It is not possible to change them to mean ' ' and 0.

This is still on our list but with low priority, we won't get to it in the next release.

IBM agrees with the request and a solution appears to be desirable and feasible. IBM intends to provide a solution. However, IBM's plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.

If implemented, it would also need to be accessible within control statements such as IF.
