This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This support is now available in version 1.1.7.3 dated February 2018.
The following property may now be set in AcsConfig.properties to enable this support:
com.ibm.iaccess.PC5250Compatibility=allowNnAsFKeyHotspot
Other options for setting com.ibm.iaccess.PC5250Compatibility are documented in the AcsConfig.properties file.
We will provide a way to change the default behavior in the next update by setting a property in the AcsConfig.properties file.
IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.
This can be made to work already. Set up macros for the function keys you want.
Disable 'nn' as an option under 'Function/Number Hotspots'. (IBM uses 'nn' here to denote menu options--i.e., type the option number and press enter.)
Then enable Execute Macro (and optionally 'Show as #-D Buttons') under 'Macro Hotspots'. Any macros defined for your numbers will execute when clicked.
I doubt your RFE will be accepted. It would break using the numbers as a hotspot for options on the screens.
