Allow PTF's to be downloaded via HTTP instead of FTP or Download Director

Allow PTF's to be downloaded via HTTPS instead of FTP or Download Director.

Some organizations do not allow access to external FTP sites and most Java browsers discourage use of Java applets.

Allowing download via HTTPS will make it easier to access PTF's

Use Case:

Organization does allow access to external FTP sites and/or Java browsers disallowing use of Java applets.

@Rudi what I'm asking for is the ability to download the PTF images via https instead of ftp without having to use another application.

    Hello David,

What you are asking for is possible directly from IBM i, with the SNDPTFORD command. It is also possible to use a proxy when doing so. This can be configured in option 18 of the Electronic Service Agent menu (GO SERVICE). In Navigator for i => Network => Remote Access Services => Originator Action Services => Action => Configure IBM Universal Connection.

    Greetings Rudi
