Allow "5-Work with" on duplicate entries in WRKJOB

Currently, WRKJOB QZDASOINIT, for example, returns a list of duplicate jobs. If you select one, you need to re-execute the WRKJOB to get the list of duplicate jobs back before selecting another one. Can the list of duplicate jobs be in the format that would allow "5=Work with" and, once you exited the job, return directly back to the duplicate jobs list? Similar to a list returned by WRKSPLF

Use Case:

I often look for a particular one of several jobs, like for FTP or ODBC. If it is active, I can use WRKACTJOB JOB(QZDASOINIT), but if it is no longer active, I need to use WRKJOB JOB(QZDASOINIT). It would be nice to have a list to pick from multiple times, rather than having to re-execute the WRKJOB after every job view.

This was originally submitted to COMMON at enhancement 13671, in case it is a duplicate.

Thank you for submitting this request. I agree this is a good idea, and if this were an easy change, I would definitely do it. But the way the the DUPJOBOPT(*SELECT) panel was designed to be used by multiple commands, it is not something that would be easy to do, and would require a much bigger change. So I am declining the request at this time.

Good idea. It has always been an annoyance.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. With the preferred interface (Navigator), you can look at active jobs or server jobs in Navigator, subset the list there, and a new tab will be opened with the old tab preserved.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
