Allow alphabetic expand/contract grouping in outline for fields

In the outline view, allow the fields to be grouped alphabetically with the ability to expand/contract the on the each character in the alphabet to view all the fields for that expanded character.
All the variables that begin with 'A' would be grouped under 'A', the 'A' could be clicked on to show all variables that start with 'A'. This would eliminates a lot of scrolling when you have to get to a variable that starts with 'Z'.


Use Case:

In some programs, mostly old legacy code, the programs contains thousands of fields. Scrolling through the field list in the outline is time consuming to to get to the field desired. If there was an option, selected in the preferences, to allow the fields to be initially collapsed, then you could go to the character the field starts with faster, then expand that character to find the field you are looking for.
