Enhancements to Print Screen Collection

I would like the ability to change the order of collected screens when processing a print screen collection. Also, it would be great if we could create a PDF or Word file directly from the process screen rather than having to print to a PDF writer or something.

Use Case:

When collecting testing samples, sometimes we miss a screen and have to go back and get that screen, then our PDF is out of order and needs to be recreated. If we could re-order the screens prior to printing the collection, we could easily go back and grab any missed screens, then put them in the correct order, then print the collection.

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.

The ultimate goal is to be able to capture select screens and create a PDF document from them, which we can very easily do with the Print Screen Collection functionality. However, it would be nice if we could rearrange the order that the screens were captured to make it easier to insert a screen that was missed.

With the screen archive feature, the users would first have to pause/un-pause the history capture on every screen, rather than select only certain screens to capture. Then, if they forgot a screen, they'd have to open the archive in a text editor, and cut and paste the entire screen into the proper order.

I think it would be much easier for us if we had the option to reorder the screen captures by allowing us to select a particular capture and have "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons to reposition it before printing to a PDF writer.

I guess another option would be to give a button that would copy the screen captures to the clipboard so that we could paste them into a Word doc and then rearrange also, but that would be less efficient for our purposes.

Have you considered using the Screen History Archive support? It is available when Screen History is enabled. To enable Screen History, select View->Screen History. Then you can enable the archive support which will save all your screens. To view an archive already saved, select Window->Screen History Archive Viewer. When viewing a previously saved archive, you can print the screens to a text file which will not include any colors, but the file can be edited like any other text file. The help text for Screen History includes additional information. Let us know if this meets your requirements.
