Order of parameters on DSPUSRPRF versus CRTUSRPRF

The order that the parameters appear on the screen when executing a DSPUSRPRF command versus a CRTUSRPRF command is disjointed.


Use Case:

Often, when creating a new user profile, we reference another user profile as to the settings for the user. Sometimes that other profile is on another LPAR. When we're displaying the profile on one LPAR and trying to create the new profile on another, we have to scroll up and down numerous times to check each parameter for accuracy against the example. It would be great if those parameters were displayed in the same order, so that we can quickly check the parameters side-by-side.

    Hi Jeff

    I feel your pain and wish it had been this way from the start too but given how many other things IBM have on the back burner, can I suggest you use the copy user profile function (WRKUSRPRF *ALL, then Option 3). This will give you the parameters in the same order as your CRTUSRPRF.

    If the users are on the same LPAR it may even do away with your need for the DSPUSRPRF.

    When you want to crate an existing user from an other LPAR -
    Why you don't use SAVRSTOBJ?
    This would be easier, or?
