Enhancement to DLTUSRPRF command function

DLTUSRPRF is a common OS400 command. The change object owner is a basic and often required parameter function of this command. It should not matter if the owned object is an IFS object. IBM should understand the client desire and need to have this option function as it was intended in conjunction with the DLTUSRPRF command.

Use Case:

delete profiles of terminated employees
delete profiles that are old and have not been used
delete profiles that are duplicates

Sorry for the long delay. The external response two years ago was incorrectly made as an internal to IBM only response. That response follows:

The background for this DLTUSRPRF change request is related to the IFS file system authority checking and the fact that IFS does not honor program adopted authority. The IFS authority checking will not be changed to honor adopted authority as the security support is built upon POSIX file system security semantics and IBM i must maintain these semantics. The work around for for the IFS is to use the profile swap APIs (QSYGETPH and QWTSETP) in order to elevate authority within an application (rather than relying on program adopted authority).
