Simple IBM i user password authentication via Microsoft Active Directory

A simple password authentication from IBM i to Active directory would greatly increase the usability of user profiles on IBM i. Without using SSO/EIM because this does not suit our needs.

Use Case:

The active directory is the main source when it comes to enabling users to use resources. It's also the most important place to block access to a variety of resources in case of and employee leave or abuse of a user profile or in case of cyber attacks. In these cases it's critical to act fast. If we could get the IBM to simply verify the status and password of a user profile to AD instead of locally on the system we could easily manage this in 1 place.
