Run SQL Scripts - AutoSave

Please add some auto-save features to the Run SQL Scripts program.

I can think of at least two options I would like to see:

1. Every x number of minutes.
2. Any time an action is performed, e.g. after clicking Run and before actually running the statement.

Use Case:

SQL statements can take some time to created and perfect. You can spend an entire day if you want writing one SQL program.

Similar to using Microsoft Word, I would like features that will ensure I don't lose my work.

Thank you for submitting your Request For Enhancement. We understand the value of this RFE, but higher priority items have taken precedence. We are keeping this on our list for consideration in the near future.

IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. It is a real frustration to lose work that's been done over a period of time.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

For more information about CAAC, see www.common.org/caac

For more details about CAAC's role with RFEs, see http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/Blogs/i-Can/May-2017/COMMON-Americas-Advisory-Council-%28CAAC%29-and-RFEs/

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.

Maybe an addition could be that the session is written to a history file which keeps being added to until saved. Kind of like an log file or how the green screen STRSQL saves the statements.
    Thanks, Rob
