Enable Collection Services to run in Restricted State

Collection services should be enhanced to run in restricted state. Performance data from backups and other restricted state activities would be very useful. System monitor data (if monitors were defined) should be included in this Collection Services data.


Use Case:

My weekly back up has been taking longer and longer. Collection services data can help be determine why.

    When your save runs 22 hours instead of 6 and runs in batch restricted state how else would you figure out the problem?

    I would suggest this is a tick more than a 'nice to have'

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature. It may be helpful to have performance statistics on SAVEs, even if it is not the full Collection Services data.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
