Using the STRPCCMD with the switch PAUSE(*NO) should not pause the emulator session for GUI-applications. When launching a Windows GUI-application, users should still be able to function inside the emulator session without restriction.
***WORKAROUND PRESENTED IN COMMENTS SECTION - USE 'start' BEFORE ANY GUI EXE's TO RESOLVE***
As a transport company, we have a lot of vehicles to track. These vehicles have all their information stored in the AS400 and all our staff access this through ACS. When we launch our tracking GUI-application through STRPCCMD with the PAUSE(*NO) switch, our staff are unable to continue their work inside the emulator session to update the segment records of the vehicles location or find customer contact details inside our CRM also stored on the AS400 in order to let customers know the current location of our vehicles.

This is a duplicate of: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=102739
Please read the explanation there for why this RFE is being declined.
Thanks PederUdesen! I opened a support case about this before creating this request and using start was not even mentioned as a workaround.
The main thing I was able to take away from the support case was "In practice, the PAUSE parameter has no effect on GUI based programs" which has been the trouble. Using 'start' to workaround this is perfect. So thank you, again.
The command should use "start" as described in the comments here:

STRPCCMD was corrected to the way it worked in Client Access in this case
