ACS CHGJOB INQMSGRPY(*RQD)

Hello,
We have noticed that any query run from the Run sql statement program does an auto reply to messages. For example, when inserting into a file that has reached its maximum capacity, the program inserts as many lines as possible and then returns an error message, but the first lines of data have been inserted though. Doing the same thing from STRSQL on the green screen does generate a MSGW on the job. It looks like it is not possible to generate the same kind of messages when this issue happens from an execute sql statement program from ACS. I would like to see this option added in ACS so that we can choose to use the default answer or use the *RQD like we can do on the job.

CHGJOB INQMSGRPY(*RQD)

Use Case:

In STRSQL, do the following:
INSERT INTO [TABLE] VALUES (123),(456),(789);

If the file [TABLE] reaches the maximum capacity, a CPA5305 message ID is sent to the job. This message can be answered and the insert process continues.

Doing the same query in the Run SQL Statement program from ACS (Access Client Solution) does not generate the message ID CPA5305 but only generates a SQL0904 sql code but does not provide any option to answer any message so allow the job to continue.

    Thank you for submitting your Request For Enhancement. After evaluating your submission, the decision at this time is to not provide this support. However, we suggest you try using the IBM i command CHGRPYLE to override the default reply for CPA5305.
